During the vote-counting process on Monday, around 20% of the votes in each ballot box were found to be invalid. Polling staff are currently bundling the ballots in sets of 25 for verification.
Election rules permit only the numbering of preferences on the ballot paper. Any additional markings, such as tick marks or circling of numbers, render the vote invalid. Despite these guidelines, several ballots have been disqualified due to improper markings.
