The report underscores Nxtra’s focus on three key pillars of sustainability — reducing environmental impact through renewable energy and efficient operations, fostering social inclusion and workplace safety, and strengthening governance with transparency and accountability.

Key Highlights (FY 2024-25):
- Achieved 188,507 tCO2e emission reductions, a 15% YoY improvement.
- 49% of energy consumption across core data centres sourced from renewable energy.
- Contracted 482,800 MWh renewable energy, 3X higher than baseline year 2021.
- Reduced Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) by 10% vs FY 2021 baseline.
- 130% increase in women workforce under the NxtWave initiative.
- Achieved 85/100 employee engagement score.
- Ensured 99% of suppliers were India-based and conducted ESG assessments for 98% of strategic suppliers.
- Secured 6.15 million safe person-hours in construction projects.
Commenting on the milestone, Ashish Arora, CEO – Nxtra by Airtel, said:
“Sustainability is embedded into every aspect of Nxtra’s design, build, and operations. This year, we became the first data centre company in India — and only the 14th company in the country — to join the global RE100 initiative, committing to 100% renewable energy. We are also the first to deploy AI at scale to enhance energy efficiency and operational performance.”
The company also highlighted its NxtWave talent development programme, aimed at boosting female representation in engineering roles.
