365telugu.com online news,TIRUMALA,9 OCTOBER 2021: On the third day afternoon as part of ongoing annual brahmotsvams, Snapana Tirumanjanam was performed to Sridevi Bhudevi Sameta Sri Malayappa Swamy at Ranganayakula Mandapam in Tirumala temple.
Though Snapana Tirumanjanam is performed on different occasions, the one during annual brahmotsavams assumes importance since the processional deities are decked with varieties of garlands made of fruits, dry fruits, cereals, spices apart from various flowers every year.
Especially the Mandapam stands out with excellent theme work made of out of flowers and fruits.
This year, the mandapam where snapanam was performed is designed in the form of a lotus with scores of lotuses hanging from the top. Adding extra glamour to the entire Ranganayakula Mandapam, the decoration with bright coloured oranges and green leaves enhanced the beauty.
While Snapanam is being performed to deities, seven times garlands are changed during this two-hour long event before concluding with Tulasi garlands. To start with, the garlands made of Nutmegs, pistachios, dates, dry grapes, varieties of rose petals, Panneer leaves and blue pavitras (beads made of silk threads) were decked to the deities before concluding the sacred, colourful fete with Tulasi garlands amidst chanting of Vedic hymns by Veda parayanamdars.
Vasudeva Bhattacharya acted as Kankana Bhattar for the first day of Snapana Tirumanjanam.
“The florists worked three days and nights to prepare the Padma Mandapam and a Chennai-based devotee, Sri Trilok Chander has come forward to bear the cost of decoration on donation”, said TTD Garden Deputy Director Sri Srinivasulu.
