365telugu.com online news,1st,January,2025:India’s senior cricket trio—Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Jasprit Bumrah—are reportedly set to miss the upcoming home white-ball series against England, following the ongoing 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. According to Sports Tak, the decision to rest the trio has been made to manage their workload, although the final confirmation will depend on discussions with the players.

The India-England series comprises five T20Is, starting on January 22, just 15 days after the final day of the Sydney Test in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. This will be followed by an ODI series commencing on February 6. While Rohit and Kohli have already stepped away from T20Is, Bumrah is expected to skip both formats. Notably, the ODIs will serve as India’s final bilateral series before the 2025 Champions Trophy in Pakistan and the UAE.

Bumrah, who missed the third Test against New Zealand, and Rohit, who was absent for the Perth Test due to the birth of his child, have otherwise been consistent fixtures in India’s cricket schedule over the past six months.

The move to rest these players reflects a broader strategy to manage player fitness amidst a packed calendar. Addressing workload concerns, one team insider commented, “There comes a time when you need to take a step back and give the players an extra breather. We’ve been very cautious and regularly communicate with them about their fitness and feelings. Managing these aspects carefully is key to sustaining performance.”

This approach underscores the team’s focus on balancing long-term fitness with the demands of a rigorous cricketing calendar.
