365telugu.com online news, September 19th,2025: Hyderabad Police recently hosted “Traffic Summit 2025,” a public awareness event aimed at promoting road safety and preventing accidents. Telugu actor Sai Durgha Tej was the chief guest, where he delivered a powerful and personal speech on the importance of traffic rules. He also donated ₹5 lakh to the police department.
During the event, Sai Durgha Tej shared a personal account of his own bike accident on September 10, 2021. He revealed that he was in a coma for two weeks and attributed his survival to wearing a helmet.
“The main reason I survived that day was because I wore a helmet. That’s why I’m standing here today,” he stated. He urged all riders to wear helmets, and appealed to their family members and partners to ensure they do so as well.
He also spoke about the long and challenging recovery from his injuries, which affected his speech and fine motor skills. “I forgot how to speak. My fine motor balance was gone. I even forgot how to hold a pen,” he said.

He expressed his fear of riding a bike after the accident, but his mother encouraged him to overcome it. Following her advice, he now practices riding in a safe, empty space at home while always wearing a helmet.
Tej also shared his thoughts on the need for car drivers to follow traffic rules and wear seatbelts, emphasizing that safety protects not only the driver but also co-passengers and others on the road. He commended the police for their role as “unsung heroes” who ensure public safety and provide the courage to live fearlessly.

He concluded his speech with a powerful message about personal responsibility: “Our life is our responsibility. Nobody else will take that responsibility. If we do wrong, we alone will suffer.”
He suggested that the police consider alternative punishments for traffic violators, such as community service, as a way to instill a greater sense of accountability for their actions.
