365Telugu.com Online News, Delhi, February 22nd, 2023: Scientists of the National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI) have warned that a massive earthquake is likely to occur in the Himalayan region soon.
Hyderabad-based NGRI Chief Scientist Dr Purnachandra Rao said that the intensity of the earthquake will be significant and there is a risk of massive destruction in the area.
However, he disclosed that by strengthening the structures, loss of life and property can be reduced. he is telling that the earth is made up of many plates and these plates are constantly changing.
In India these plates are moving up to five centimeters every year. Due to this, the Himalayan region is under tremendous stress. Due to this, he says, a massive earthquake may occur in the Himalayan region.
Dr. Pournachandra Rao said that an earthquake may occur in Himachal Pradesh, western region of Nepal and Uttarakhand. He says that the intensity of this earthquake will be 8 on the Richter scale.
Scientists say that the reason for the death of such a large number of people in the earthquake that occurred in Turkey is due to the shoddy structures there. They said earthquakes cannot be stopped, but there is a need to build strong buildings following government guidelines.
