365telugu.com online news,India, August 19th,2025: Suzlon Group, India’s leading wind energy solutions provider, has become the first Indian energy company to join the prestigious RE100 Initiative-a global campaign led by Climate Group in partnership with CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project).
As part of this commitment, Suzlon has pledged to power all its 15 manufacturing facilities with 100% renewable energy by 2030, further reinforcing its leadership in sustainable and responsible manufacturing.
This announcement is a cornerstone of Suzlon’s larger decarbonization roadmap, which includes achieving carbon neutrality (Scope 1 and 2 emissions) by 2035 and net zero (Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions) by 2040.
Scope 1 covers direct operational emissions, Scope 2 covers indirect emissions from purchased electricity, and Scope 3 spans emissions across the value chain-from suppliers to product lifecycles.

Commenting on the milestone, Mr. JP Chalasani, CEO, Suzlon Group, said:“Joining RE100 is a powerful affirmation of our belief that true leadership in renewable energy begins at home-in how we run our own operations.
We are not just delivering clean power to the world; we are ensuring that every megawatt we produce is backed by a manufacturing process powered entirely by renewables.
This is both a responsibility to the planet and a promise to future generations-to lead by example, to innovate without compromise, and to embed sustainability into everything we do.”
Suzlon has already made remarkable progress on its ESG commitments over the past year. The company achieved 92.87% carbon neutrality at plant level, with its Rotor Blade Unit in Dhule operating on 100% renewable energy.
It reduced energy intensity by 17.19% compared to FY 2023–24 and cut Scope 1 and Scope 2 emission intensity by 88.51%. Additionally, renewable energy consumption increased by 80.7%, underscoring Suzlon’s strong commitment to sustainable growth.

RE100 brings together over 400 of the world’s most influential companies across industries, united in the mission to transition to 100% renewable electricity. Suzlon’s inclusion as the first Gold Member from India marks a significant step in advancing the country’s journey toward a low-carbon, sustainable future.
