(SMIPL) has reached a monumental landmark in its 20-year journey, rolling out its 10 millionth two-wheeler from its Gurugram manufacturing facility. The milestone unit, a Suzuki Access Ride Connect Edition, was unveiled today, marking a period of significant growth for the Japanese subsidiary in the Indian market.
Since beginning local operations in 2006, SMIPL has seen a sharp acceleration in production. While it took 14 years to reach the first 5 million units in 2020, the company achieved the next 5 million in just six years, reflecting the rapidly growing demand for its products.

Key Drivers of the 10 Million Mark
The Access Legacy: The Suzuki Access 125, India’s first 125cc scooter, remains the backbone of the company’s success, now serving as its highest-selling model across three generations.
Diverse Portfolio: Success has been bolstered by a wide range of products including the Burgman and Avenis scooters, the Gixxer and V-Strom series, and premium flagship bikes like the made-in-India Hayabusa.
Global Export Hub: India serves as a critical manufacturing base for Suzuki, with two-wheelers exported to over 60 international markets.
Future Mobility and Expansion
As part of its commitment to carbon neutrality, Suzuki is moving toward a “multi-pathway” mobility approach. The company recently introduced the GIXXER SF 250 FFV (Flex Fuel Vehicle), its first E85-compliant motorcycle, and is preparing for the launch of its first electric scooter, the Suzuki e-ACCESS.
To support future demand, SMIPL is currently developing its second manufacturing plant in Kharkhoda, Haryana. This facility will significantly enhance production capacity alongside the existing Gurugram plant.
