365telugu.com online news,Delhi, April 23rd, 2022:Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) convened its first Board of Directors meeting after the formation of the Telangana state on Saturday and deliberated on several issues. The Board meeting was attended by seven of the nine directors including Shri Bajireddy Govardhan, MLA- Chairman TSRTC

Briefing the media after the board meeting, Chairman of TSRTC Bajireddy Govardhan said that the corporation was gradually making rapid strides in revenue generation by tapping alternative sources of revenue generation. He said annual accounts from financial year 2014-15 to 2020-21 have been approved by the Board.The Chairman said the Board had ratified several pending issues and discussed the compassionate appointments to the children of the bereaved families. The modalities are being worked out, he said. The Chairman appreciated the management and staff of the TSRTC for their efforts, particularly during the Covid pandemic and advised them to bring the corporation back to profitability with grit and determination.

TSRTC Managing Director VC Sajjanar said that a detailed presentation was given to the Board on the state of affairs of the Corporation and the Board was appreciative of the initiatives launched to scale up revenue through innovative channels. He said new verticals like Cargo Services, Tarnaka Super specialty hospital and Nursing College, launching a chain of pharmacy outlets at different bus stationsare to augment the existing traffic related revenues. He said the Board discussed about the Compassionate appointments and gave suggestions. Management is considering compassionate appointments with consolidated pay.The Board has also instructed the Management to look into some of the delegation of powers and the powers to be given to Chairman and MD after a detailed study.
