365telugu.com online news,National, September15th, 2021:As we enter the festive season, the National Centre for the Performing Arts gearing up to celebrate Mother Goddess or ‘Devi’ with their latest workshop for budding and professional Bharatanatyam dancers. The workshop has been specially designed to focus on the 3 main components of the dance form-Nritta(technical dance),Nritya (expressional dance) and Natya (dramatic storytelling) with Devi being the central theme.Spread across threecomprehensive sessions, the practical workshop will be conducted virtually by renowned performer Priyadarsini Govind starting 17th September, every Friday, until 1st October.Speaking about the workshop, Swapnokalpa Dasgupta, Head of Dance Programming at the National Centre for the Performing Artssaid, “The thought behind organising such an interactive and practical workshop is to make the most of the digital platform.Thesethreesessions will surely prove to be engaging, and insightful for all dance enthusiasts as they will not only be able to hone their skills but also learn a unique natya from one of the best dancers in the fraternity today.”

Priyadarsini Govind is one of the foremost Bharatanatyam dancers among the current generation. She is known for her adherence to tradition,and through her dance she manages to seamlessly blend new choreography with traditional forms. Elaborating on expectations that participants can have from the workshop, Priyadarsini Govind adds, “Along with explaining the practical aspects, I will also be narrating to them the co-relation between the dance form and ‘Devi’. The focus will be on highlighting grace, purity, tenderness, that are qualities possessed by the Mother Goddess.”
