365Telugu.com Online News, Delhi, February 10, 2023: The Supreme Court on Friday will hear a petition seeking an inquiry into the Hindenburg Research report on the business group of prominent industrialist Gautam Adani. The petition sought an inquiry into the report under the supervision of a retired Supreme Court judge.
Advocate Vishal Tiwari requested that the case be registered soon before a bench comprising CJI Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice PS Narasimha and Justice JB Pardiwala.
He said that along with his application, other petitions filed in this regard will be taken up for hearing on Friday. Tiwari also asked in the PIL to set up a special committee to monitor the process of granting loans of over Rs 500 crore to large business enterprises.
Hindenburg Research released a report in which several serious allegations were leveled against the Adani Group, including fraudulent transactions and share price manipulation. After this, the share prices of Adani group companies are falling heavily.
Early last week, lawyer ML Sharma filed another PIL in the Supreme Court, alleging that short seller Nathan Anderson of US-based Hindenburg Research and his associates in India and the US had defrauded the Adani Group of innocent investors. It is alleged that they profited by artificially reducing the share price.
In fact, Hindenburg Research released a report that leveled several serious allegations against the Adani Group, including fraudulent transactions and share price manipulation. After this, the share prices of Adani group companies fell sharply. Adani Group, however, has denied all the allegations, saying it abides by all laws and policies related to disclosure of information.
The Supreme Court will hear the Dawoodi Bohra community case today.
A constitution bench of the Supreme Court will on Friday pronounce its verdict on whether to refer a petition against the practice of pre-communication in the Dawoodi Bohra community to a bench. A five-judge constitution bench headed by Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul will deliver its verdict on Friday. The bench also consisted of Justice Abhay S Oka, Justice Vikram Nath and Justice JK Maheshwari.
