The partnership is set to tackle a major environmental challenge by reducing methane emissions from livestock.
The multi-phase, multi-year agreement will focus on key livestock markets in India, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay, collectively home to over 40% of the global cattle population. Together, UPL and CH4 Global will create a targeted distribution plan for CH4 Global’s Methane Tamer™ feed additive, aimed at significantly reducing the livestock sector’s carbon footprint by using eco-friendly feed solutions.
Methane Tamer™ is a groundbreaking cattle feed supplement derived from whole Asparagopsis seaweed, which research has shown can reduce enteric methane emissions from cattle by up to 90%. Enteric methane, a byproduct of livestock digestion, is a major contributor to global greenhouse gas emissions and the leading source of human-driven methane worldwide.
This partnership will integrate Methane Tamer™ into UPL’s existing feed solutions, leveraging the company’s deep market expertise, strong customer relationships, and vast distribution networks in the target regions.
