Anemia..
Anemia refers to the lack of blood in the body. Anemia is when you don’t have enough healthy red blood cells to carry oxygen to your body’s tissues. Anemia is also known as hemoglobin deficiency. Medical experts say that the main reason is the lack of enough iron and vitamin D in the diet.
Why does anemia occur?
Lack of iron, vitamin B-12, folate and copper in the diet increases the risk of anemia. Apart from this, people with certain underlying health problems like intestinal disease are also at higher risk.
Intestinal diseases such as Crohn’s disease and celiac disease affect the body’s absorption of nutrients. This increases the risk of anemia.
Apart from this, due to lack of blood and nutrients in women during menstruation, women are more at risk of this.
Special plans for Arogya Bharat..
According to an estimate, one in every two women in the country suffers from anemia. Collective effort at the grassroots level is required to free the country from anemia.
Especially among rural women, most of them are suffering from anemia due to lack of nutrients. That is why the central government has paid attention. For this, more focus should be placed on awareness programs. Special plans have been prepared for that.
In the budget 2023-24, the center has been specially created for improvement in the health sector. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman made an announcement in this budget regarding Autogy.
The aim is to make the country anemia free by 2047. Apart from this, 157 new nursing colleges will be set up at major locations, the finance minister said.
