As a tribute to legendary filmmaking, the festival features dedicated sections such as ‘Timeless Tales’ and ‘Legacy Rewind’, offering cinephiles a chance to revisit some of the most influential films in Indian and world cinema. This curated selection allows audiences to experience iconic works on the big screen once again.

Reflecting on his father’s masterpiece, Ramesh Prasad remarked, “Watching ‘Missamma’ featured at Red Lorry Film Festival reaffirms its timeless appeal and the depth of my father’s storytelling.”

Honoring the works of Singeetham Srinivasa Rao, the festival will showcase ‘Pushpaka Vimana’ (1987) and ‘Aditya 369’ (1991). The silent black comedy ‘Pushpaka Vimana’, featuring Kamal Haasan, remains a groundbreaking film, delivering a scathing critique of socio-economic disparity.

Speaking about his vision, Singeetham Srinivasa Rao shared, “Stripping away dialogue challenged me as a storyteller, and seeing this film resonate after decades proves the power of visual storytelling.”

Similarly, ‘Aditya 369’, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, pioneered Indian science fiction with its compelling time-travel narrative. Reflecting on this landmark film, Singeetham Srinivasa Rao added, “Merging mythology with science fiction was a risk, but witnessing its continued admiration reaffirms the importance of pushing creative boundaries.”

‘Kshana Kshanam’ (1991), a visually striking thriller by Ram Gopal Varma, brings together Sridevi and Daggubati Venkatesh in a thrilling adventure filled with action, romance, and edge-of-the-seat suspense. The film’s innovative cinematography and pulsating Ilaiyaraaja soundtrack cemented its status as a genre-defining classic.

Capturing the youthful spirit, ‘Happy Days’ (2007) by Sekhar Kammula remains a nostalgic coming-of-age drama, marking Tamannaah Bhatia’s breakthrough in Telugu cinema.

Similarly, ‘Chandamama’ (2007), starring Kajal Aggarwal and Navdeep, delivers a heartwarming tale of love and camaraderie, set against the backdrop of a picturesque village.

Dileep noted, “Every frame in this film was designed to reflect Jogendra’s changing morality, making its showcase at the festival a true honor.”
