365Telugu.com online news,Telangana, June 12th, 2025: Bharti Airtel (“Airtel”) has made rapid strides in enhancing cybersecurity for its customers in Telangana. As part of the nationwide deployment of its AI-powered fraud detection system, Airtel has blocked over 180,000 malicious links and protected more than 5.4 million users across the state-all within just 25 days of launching the initiative.
The cutting-edge fraud detection system is automatically enabled for all Airtel mobile and broadband users. It scans URLs shared via SMS, WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook, Instagram, email, and web browsers. Leveraging real-time threat intelligence, the platform examines over 1 billion URLs daily, blocking harmful sites in under 100 milliseconds.
For example, if a Hyderabad user receives a phishing message like “Your package is delayed. Track it here: http://www.tracky0urparcell.com” and clicks on it, Airtel’s system instantly analyzes the link. If identified as dangerous, access is blocked immediately and the user sees a warning message: “Blocked! Airtel found this site dangerous!”

“Customer safety is our top priority. We are proud to offer this AI-powered protection free of charge. Our solution is designed to proactively block fraud and give users peace of mind as they go about their digital lives.”

Ms. Shikha Goel, IPS, DG & Director, Telangana Cyber Security Bureau, praised the initiative:
“As Telangana expands its digital ecosystem, strong fraud prevention strategies are crucial. We appreciate Airtel’s proactive role in strengthening cybersecurity.”
With Telangana ranking among India’s top digitally connected states, the threat of online fraud has become widespread-from urban hubs like Hyderabad and Warangal to smaller towns like Suryapet and Adilabad. Cybercriminals use phishing scams, fake delivery alerts, and fraudulent banking messages to exploit users.

Airtel’s AI-powered system functions as a statewide digital shield, protecting diverse user groups including families, seniors, homemakers, students, and first-time smartphone users. It also offers fraud alerts in Telugu and other regional languages, making it especially effective in areas with limited English proficiency or low digital literacy.
Operating silently in the background, the system requires no installation or setup, and comes at no additional cost. As Telangana embraces digital services- from e-governance to digital payments- Airtel’s initiative is a key step toward building a safer digital environment for all.
