365telugu.com online news,Hyderabad, July 14, 2025: While Parkinson’s disease is often the first condition that comes to mind, a range of other neurological conditions can cause debilitating movement disorders like tremors, walking difficulties, and slurred speech.
This critical understanding, emphasizing tailored treatments based on root causes and symptom severity, was highlighted at the “Practical Neurology–2025” conference held recently in Hyderabad.
Organized by the Neurosciences Department of KIMS Hospitals, the event aimed to equip neurologists and neurosurgeons, particularly those in Tier-2 cities and towns, with the latest insights into diagnosing and treating these complex conditions.
Dr. Bollineni Bhaskar Rao, Chairman and Managing Director of KIMS Hospitals, Dr. Mohan Das, Chief Consultant Neurologist, and Dr. Manas Kumar Panigrahi, Head of Neurosurgery and Senior Consultant Neurosurgeon, inaugurated the conference.
Over 200 medical professionals from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Maharashtra attended the session.
Diverse Causes and Tailored Treatments..
Medical experts at the conference explained that conditions such as Chorea, Dystonia, Atypical Parkinson’s Syndromes, and Wilson’s Disease can all manifest with movement-related issues. The consensus was clear: treatment strategies must be customized to the specific diagnosis and its intensity.
Among the advanced therapies discussed, Magnetic Resonance-guided Focused Ultrasound (MRgFUS) emerged as a particularly promising and fast-acting option.
“When patients understand this procedure and opt for it, results can often be seen immediately sometimes as soon as they get up from the treatment table,” stated a medical expert.
KIMS Hospitals has successfully treated 19 patients with MRgFUS, and their video testimonials showcasing remarkable recoveries were a key highlight of the conference.
Beyond MRgFUS, Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) was also presented as an effective therapy for certain movement disorders. Additionally, Botox injections were highlighted for their success in specific cases, offering another valuable treatment pathway.
Knowledge Sharing for Better Patient Outcomes
The conference, organized by Dr. M. Jayasree, Consultant Neurologist and Movement Disorder Specialist at KIMS, served as a vital platform for sharing critical knowledge.
Senior doctors from KIMS, including Dr. Subhash Kaul, Dr. Gopalakrishna, Dr. Seetha Jayalakshmi, Dr. Varalakshmi, Dr. Praveen Kumar Yada, and Dr. Anuja Patil, actively participated in the discussions.

The event also drew renowned neurologists and neurosurgeons from across India, including Dr. Mohit Bhatt (Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Mumbai), Dr. Kalyan B. Bhattacharya (Medica Hospital, Kolkata), Dr. Hrishikesh Kumar (Institute of Neurosciences, Kolkata), Dr. Rupa Rajan (AIIMS New Delhi), Dr. Pramod Pal (NIMHANS Bengaluru), Dr. L.K.
