365Telugu.com online news,India,October 26th, 2024: Reinforcing its dedication to environmental sustainability, Canon India has announced the successful plantation of 50,000 trees through its ‘Green Environment Together’ (GET) initiative. Launched in July 2019, the GET initiative represents Canon India’s commitment to creating a greener, more sustainable future by planting a tree for every laser copier or multi-function device (MFD) sold to its direct customers.
Since its inception, Canon India has pledged to plant over 10,000 trees annually, a promise they have upheld by planting 50,000 saplings in the last five years. Each tree symbolizes the trust customers place in Canon’s high-quality, multifunctional printers. In recognition of this initiative, Canon Inc.’s Environmental Committee in Japan awarded the GET initiative in 2020 for its contributions to sustainability.
Reflecting on this achievement, Mr. Toshiaki Nomura, President & CEO, Canon India, stated, “At Canon India, our commitment to giving back to society is a cornerstone of our corporate values. In addition to providing world-class products and services, we are dedicated to protecting the environment and fostering community development as part of our ‘Kyosei’ philosophy. Through our flagship ‘Green Environment Together’ initiative, we have created an impactful ecosystem in collaboration with our customers by planting a tree for every laser copier-based multifunction printer sold to them. Reaching this significant milestone of 50,000 saplings within five years is a moment of pride and encouragement as we partner with our customers to build a greener, more sustainable future.”
Canon India also introduced geotagging technology to enhance customer involvement in the GET initiative. Certificates issued to customers now include a QR code that links to a virtual forest page. By entering their company name, customers can view the geotagged details of the trees planted on their behalf, creating a more interactive and transparent experience.
Speaking on the initiative, Mr. C Sukumaran, Senior Director of Product & Communication, Canon India, added, “As a leader in the printing sector and a socially responsible organization, we strive to balance our environmental impact with meaningful contributions that benefit both our industry and the planet. Through our GET initiative, we have made significant progress in sustainable business, while continuing to innovate with cutting-edge technologies and solutions. Each tree planted through the GET initiative serves as a testament to the trust our customers place in Canon, a milestone that would not be possible without their unwavering support.”
Alongside the GET initiative, Canon offers eco-friendly business solutions that reduce carbon footprints through low-energy consumption. These offerings, which cater to a range of industries from SMEs to large corporations, underscore Canon’s commitment to sustainability and conscious customer offerings, paving the way for a new era of eco-responsible business solutions.
