365Telugu.com online news,National, January 17th, 2024: MG (Morris Garages), a British automobile brand with a 100-year-old legacy, extends support to women Hockey coach, Pratima Barwa. The 44-year-old coaches young girls in Simdega, Jharkhand.

Under MG Sewa, this initiative is another effort towards fostering sportsmanship and skill development among the youth of its community and beyond. MG will be providing essential resources and equipment which will support the budding hockey talent from the state.

MG Sewa is a vertical that emerges as a focal point, dedicated to providing substantial support to women aspiring to achieve excellence in the realm of sports.

Operating at the forefront of this commitment, the platform has led various support initiatives for female athletes. The brand has supported women including professional golfer – Tvesa Malik, Khel Ratna and Arjun Awardee – Deepa Malik, India’s first silver medallist at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics – Bhavina Patel et all.

Pratima who represented Bihar in Hockey, started her journey in 2008. She faced a sudden halt in her career due to a ligament tear injury. The resilient young girl from Khunti, Jharkhand did not let the setback deter her dreams.

After completing her degree, she started working as a coach in Simdega. Here, apart from polishing including Olympian Salima Tete and national star Sangita Kumari, Pratima has also helped over half a dozen women Hockey Players from the state to participate in national camps.

Her commitment to the game and her role in nurturing budding talents align with MG Sewa’s vision for women’s development.
