365Telugu.com online news, September 15th,2024: The Chennai Turbo Riders experienced a thrilling weekend at the Indian Racing Festival, held at the Madras International Circuit (MIC) on Sunday. Mohammed Ryan transformed his pole position into a maiden victory, marking a significant achievement for both himself and his team. This win, coupled with a previous success by team-mate Jon Lancaster, delivered a double triumph for Chennai Turbo Riders.
Ryan, a 22-year-old Rotax Karting champion, capitalized on his home circuit advantage with a stellar start and consistent lap times. His victory not only showcased his driving prowess but also sparked celebrations within the Chennai Turbo Riders camp.
The race saw Ryan quickly pulling ahead, while Sohil Shah from Goa Aces JA Racing aggressively overtook Jaden Pariat of Bangalore Speedsters at Turn-1. Pariat lost another position shortly after when team-mate Rishon Rajeev advanced past him. The top three maintained their positions, while other competitors fought hard for points behind them.
Ryan expressed his delight: “I had a good start and maintained focus throughout the race. I’m thrilled that Chennai Turbo Riders secured wins in both IRL races this weekend and earned valuable points.”
Formula 4 Indian Championship..
The Formula 4 Indian Championship delivered a day full of excitement with three races featuring three distinct winners: Ruhaan Alva (Shrachi Rarh Bengal Tigers), Veer Sheth (Ahmedabad Apex Racers), and South African Aqil Alibhai (Black Birds Hyderabad).
In the first race, Alva demonstrated his dominance by moving to the front on the first lap and remaining uncontested. Despite a Safety Car period that grouped the field, Alibhai and Pariat managed to secure the second and third positions behind Alva, who also achieved the fastest lap of the race.
The second race saw Jaden Pariat initially in control, but he was involved in a collision with Alibhai, dropping the latter to 16th place. Pariat was subsequently penalized 20 seconds for an avoidable collision, falling to eighth. This allowed Veer Sheth, Ruhaan Alva, and Abhay Mohan (Bangalore Speedsters) to move up to the top three positions.
In the final race, Alibhai made a decisive move from third to first place on the first lap and maintained a comfortable lead. He finished nearly 19 seconds ahead of second-placed Divy Nandan (Ahmedabad Apex Racers) and Ruhaan Alva, who fended off a strong challenge from Pariat in the latter stages of the race. The excitement continues as Round 4 of the Indian Racing Festival is set to take place on October 19-20 at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore.
